Police trying to identify man in morgue since May

2010-12-23 08:29

North West police are trying to establish the identity and notify the next-of-kin of a man who has been in the state mortuary since May this year.

When he was found in a cafe in Hartbeesfontein, it looked as though he had been warming himself as he was lying next to a fire, a statement from Lieutenant General MNZ Mbombo said today.

Police are hoping that anyone who might have known him or anyone looking for a missing friend or relative will contact them.

He was dark in complexion and was wearing a brown and maroon striped long sleeved shirt, with torn brown or fawn trousers.

Police have also taken DNA from him.

The contact numbers for Detective Constable Barry Koester, who is handling the matter, are 076 827 9539 or 018 4310 666 during working hours.
