Mzansi’s newest radio station has come out with guns blazing, boasting a stellar line-up of radio veterans, contemporary stars and newbies.

The commercial talk station PowerFM, which will be based in Houghton, Joburg unveiled their line-up of on-air personalities and executives this morning at their offices.

Some of the big names that go on air on June 18 are Lerato Mbele, Pabi Moloi, Tim Modise, Lawrence Tlhabane (formerly Dube), Azania Mosaka, Siki Mgabadeli, Eusebius McKaizer and Thabo Mdluli.

Making a comeback to radio is former YFM host Paul Mnisi who has since dropped his monicker of Rudeboy along with his dreadlocks.

Radio virgins include Chris Vick and Masechaba Lekalake.

Introducing the line-up, the beaming chairman of the station, Given Mkhari, said: “I’m convinced in PowerFM you will find an ally as a citizen who wants to see this country working.”

The station’s primary target is women and men aged between 25 and 49 across various race groups. It will broadcast in Gauteng and surrounding areas.
