South Africa beat Sri Lanka by 32 runs in a rain-shortened seven-over-a-side World Twenty20 match at Hambantota, Sri Lanka.

Heavy rain had delayed the match by two and a half hours before South Africa, sent in to bat, made 78-4 with a top score of 30 by skipper AB de Villiers, while Hashim Amla made 16.

Sri Lanka managed 46-5 in their seven overs.

Both teams have already qualified for the Super Eights round after beating Zimbabwe in their opening matches.

Brief Scores:
South Africa 78-4 in seven overs (AB de Villiers 30); Sri Lanka 46-5 in seven overs (D Steyn 2-10).
