Rare flag key to solving robbery case

2010-06-17 07:59

North West police have asked the public to help trace a rare Irish flag

that was stolen at Phokong near Rustenburg earlier this week.

“The community is requested to assist the police in tracing an

Irish flag [with the words] Legend of Leeds and Lucas Radebe,” said Colonel

Junior Metsi.

He said the word Lucas was written on the left of the flag while

Radebe was on the right side.

“According to the owner, the flag is the only one in the country

and he brought it along recently from Ireland and it was robbed from him on

Tuesday, 15 June, 2010 at Phokeng.”

Metsi said if the flag could be found, it would assist the police

in solving a robbery case.

Anyone with information on the flag can contact Lieutenant Colonel

Murunwa on 082 772 5991.
