Responding to Andile Mngxitama: Hate speech ruins our sport

It was interesting to read Andile Mngxitama’s article about the Springboks and his dissatisfaction with transformation in this sporting code.

However, I fail to understand why he, and many others like him, are making such a big fuss about the lack of transformation in rugby.

Has Andile looked at the ever poor-performing Bafana Bafana?

Why is he, and the likes of him, not complaining about the lack of transformation in soccer?

Or does he define transformation as simply the inclusion of blacks in sport? Well, Mr Mngxitama, my “disloyalty” to Bafana Bafana is “a loyalty to transformation”, to use your own ill-informed quote.

Andile Mngxitama is nuts, and who cares who he shouts for?

The fact is there are at least four black players in the current Springbok team who deserve to be there.

Why don’t you attack soccer at the national level where there isn’t a single white player? Racist!

‘They (white population) exist in the bubble of white ignorance and lies. To ask such a group to transform into a different society is to place an impossible and cruel responsibility on them.

They simply wouldn’t know what to do and how.”

If you, Andile Mngxitama, know what we must do to satisfy your definition of transformation, please tell us what to do and how we should do it.

And don’t be vague, be more specific.

My impression is that you are perpetuating a culture of hate speech, intimidation and slander with your generalised, anti-white remarks.

Is this not racist?

We need to stand together and support our national teams, from athletics to soccer to rugby. We need to be unified to fight all this negativity.

Good idea. Can we next boycott the US until their NBA reflects the country’s demographic. Transformation has been disappointing. You may say who cares about the Springbok brand, but people want to play against us because we’re strong.
