Review – A visually appealing and dreamy video from Beyoncé

2011-07-09 10:32

I suppose it’s fitting that a video about the best thing you never had is of your wedding, showing off your beautiful-yet-oversized dress and all that, but now really, the groom leaves a lot to be desired to be honest.

Thank goodness he does not feature that much in the video, otherwise I would’ve been very upset. It baffles me why they couldn’t have chosen a better-looking man for “King B”, but hey, different strokes for different folks.

The jewelled bridal gown is gorgeous and looks fabulous on Beyoncé’s curvaceous body, but below the waistline it tends to be a bit much and over the top – again like I said, personal taste.

Overall, the video is very visually appealing and dreamy, and I love that it’s a powerful piano-driven ballad with the potential to become another “Irreplacable” anthem. The guys I’m sure will love the part where she’s rolling around the room in white sexy bridal undergarments.

“Best thing I never had” is Beyoncé’s single released from her new album, titled 4, following “Who Run The World (Girls)”, which was released on June 28.

The themed video premiered on July 8 and it follows Beyoncé on her wedding day from her bedroom wearing bridal undergarments to the after party all the while singing about the guy she is thankful for having let go.

Beyoncé’s 4 is currently sitting at number 1 on the Billboard 200, with sales reaching 310 000 in the first week.
