Last night’s finale of season three of the popular local drama Rockville left viewers with more questions than answers as it created yet another social media buzz fuelled by huge cliffhangers.

This was after a single gunshot was fired as Diliza held the entire Mabaso family hostage in an attempt to avenge the death of his daughter Nolitha, who died of a drug overdose.

On Twitter, Connie and Shona Ferguson’s series trended bigger than Miss SA and Big Brother Mzansi, initially fuelled by fans annoyed by having to wait till 9pm for the last episode as a live results show of Big Brother took up the 8pm slot.

Gladys (Brenda Ngxoli) and Diliza (Don Mlangeni Nawa) also trended separately last night.

In the preceding episode Diliza had taken the law into his own hands by shooting Nosipho (JB’s youngest daughter) to avenge his daughter’s death. A daughter for a daughter seems to be his motto.

Viewers have been glued to the screen since the good guy went psycho, pushed over the edge by the death of his wife and then his daughter after she was lured into prostitution.

Fans are already speculating about what season four will hold after the gunshot – who was struck down by Diliza and how will that affect the story.
