Rosina goes down in opener

2013-08-06 12:17

Rosina Sedibane suffered a 2-1 defeat in their opening group match at the 2013 Manchester United Premier Cup this morning.

They lost to Korean outfit Ulsan Hyundai in a match where the South African side hardly gelled, while their Asian counterparts dominated possession.

Ntokozo Ngcobo scored an equalising goal three minutes into the game after Ulsan had taken the lead in the fifth minute of the opening half.

The midfielder scored from long range but his wonder goal was overshadowed by a defensive blunder that gifted Ulsan their winning strike almost immediately after the equaliser.

Sedibane will face Real Madrid of Spain in their second fixture.

Meanwhile, it was not all gloom for Africa as the continent’s other contender, Right to Dream, demolished Shandong Luneng from China 9-0 to assume the lead in Group B.
