SA man’s body found in Finland

2015-03-13 09:51

The body of a South African man who went missing in Finland was found in a canal near the hotel he stayed in.

Beeld newspaper reported today that a pedestrian noticed 60-year-old Herc Croeser's body from a bridge in the Tammerkoski canal on Wednesday in Tampere.

The canal flows past the Ilves hotel where Croeser stayed while attending a conference two weeks ago.

Croeser's family in South Africa expected him back on Saturday but he never boarded the plane in Finland.

The canal also flows past a pub where he reportedly went for a drink before his disappearance.

Tampere police told Beeld there did not seem to be any indication of criminality.
