Safa to keep Gordon Igesund

2014-03-07 10:09

Safa will keep Gordon Igesund as coach despite Bafana Bafana’s embarrassment at the hands of Brazil.

2014 Soccer World Cup hosts, Brazil, set the tone for the event when they claimed a 5-0 win in their international friendly match at FNB Stadium in Joburg on Wednesday.

“The coach has a contract which ends in June. We are working on a four-year cycle from World Cup to World Cup,” said Safa president Danny Jordaan yesterday, according to the Sowetanlive website.

“Our focus is now on development. We will stage inter-provincial tournaments for the Under-17s and Under-20s later this month, in April and May,” he said.
