You might have learnt that some of South Africa's most popular drinks contain a tonne of sugar.

But did you know that the condiments we put on our food are also loaded with sugar, many of them far more than what you would find in Coke?

#Trending went to our local supermarket and read the labels on some well-loved sauces. We compared the condiments per 100ml, in order to have an even comparison.

The results were very surprising.

While a Coke has 10.6g (two teaspoons of sugar) per 100ml, All Gold tomato sauce has double that and Mrs Ball's chutney almost triple.

But the worst culprit? Wellington's Sweet Chilli Sauce, with a whopping 46.8g (almost 10 teaspoons) of sugar per 100ml, this is one sauce you might want to start using very sparingly.
