Seminar to empower young business people

2015-03-04 10:43

It is not every day that young entrepreneurs get an opportunity to learn from those who have done it and succeeded.

With just R150, budding entrepreneurs have the opportunity to take notes from serial entrepreneur and Sorbet Group founder, Ian Fuhr who is this year’s I am an Entrepreneur guest speaker.

The seminar – to be held at the Jozi Hub, 44 Stanley Avenue, Milpark – seeks to attract young entrepreneurs with the aim of mentoring them for success in their respective businesses.

One of the organisers, Andile Khumalo, told City Press that eight more seminars will held throughout the year.

Khumalo, who hosts the Power Business on talk radio Power FM, spoke on the importance of nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit among the youth.

“I am An Entrepreneur is not about networking alone, but about mentoring young business people who seldom get an opportunity to be mentored by those who have come before them.”

He said there was plenty to look forward to this year as the discussions on access to finance and access to finance were geared toward opening up the retail sector to new entrants.

“It is through mentorship and platforms of this kind that entrepreneurs will travel the journey and gain insights on how to build a business as they make contact with like-minded business people,” said Khumalo.
