Sho’t Left launch creatively superb

2011-06-04 11:11

South African Tourism showcased its new Sho’t Left campaign on Thursday night at the iconic Turbine Hall in Newtown, Johannesburg, to about 100 guests.

The campaign featured DJ Black Coffee, rock band Blk Jks, pop duo The Arrows, reality TV show crew Cream Cartel, writer and poet Natalia Molebatsi, graphic designers Am I Collective, and acclaimed painter and artist Mary Sibande.

The series of adverts will be broadcast from tomorrow.

Blk Jks performed and Molebatsi recited her poems. Former TV personality Zam Nkosi was incognito in an all-black outfit, which he topped with a fascinating hat.

After the formalities, guests tucked into sea food hors d’oeuvres, chicken curry and rice, and creamy beef stew and rice.

After much mingling, wining and dining, it was time to head out to Rosebank’s Hyatt Regency, where Peroni hosted the Kings of Style soirée, at which most of the men were dressed very stylishly.

Many familiar faces were present, including BFF rappers Slikour, Shuggasmakx, DJ Sbu Leope, 3Sum member Koyo Bala, Generations actor Jafta Mamabolo, model Rosette Mogomotsi and Gangs of Instrumentals’ Mandla N.

There was no food at the event and guests were only served Peroni, while the rest had to dig deep into their pockets to get whatever they wanted to quench their thirst.

The highlight of the event was the music. DJ Sbu was on the decks, alongside DJ Jaws, who played hip-hop and house until the wee hours of the morning.
