Simphiwe Dana's album to live-launch on radio

2014-11-19 18:09

After a two year hiatus, Simphiwe Dana is back with a fiery vengeance in an album that is bold and unapologetic about her black consciousness feminist views.

The album’s first single and video off the album, Nzima, is one of three songs on the album inspired by the Marikana Massacre and sets the tone for an album that is as political as it is soulful and beautiful.

Fresh off her recent Kenyan launch, where some of the tracks are already dominating the Kenyan iTunes Charts, Dana is bringing her album back home to her people.

The first official release of the album is set for tomorrow 20 November on Kaya Fm 95.9’s Late Night with Nonn (21h00 – 22h00).

The public pre-release launch experience will deliver a live on-air broadcast, and include an in-studio audience who will engage during the listening session in a Q&A with the firebrand herself.

For the next two weeks Firebrand is available for free to stream on

The album will be available in stores next Monday 24 November.
