Slikour dissed for Jub Jub comments

2012-10-16 14:19

Rapper Siyabonga Slikour Metane has come under fire on social networks with many accusing him of trying to “solicit sympathy” for Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye, who has been found guilty of murder.

The 31-year-old Metane was interviewed on eNews channel earlier today about the guilty verdict in the case against Maarohanye and Themba Tshabalala.

Metane said: “I am not God, who am I to judge, we all make mistakes.”

But many were not impressed with his comment.

Tweeted @Ishshah_B: “Slikour should exercise his right to keep quiet.”

@MaBlerh said: “I like Slikour, he is cool but his corrupt freedom fighter speech of today makes me want to arrange a meeting between him and Smash at Icon.”

@sboshmafu advised Slikour to rather “stick to talking about love”.

In the short telephonic interview Metane also made reference to celebrities having access to alcohol in abundance at industry events, and how the “ghetto” played a part in Maarohanye’s demise.

Afterwards, he tweeted: “Prayers for Jub Jub, sympathy for the families in my opinion as painful as it is two wrongs don’t make a right. Good luck brother.”

This elicited more criticism, with some resorting to personal attacks.

@LaurenH_ZA wrote: “This Slikour chap is trying to elicit sympathy for #JubJub whilst saying “c’mon y’all” in a faux-American accent. I twitter-smack you, dude.”

Said @Mbovu_KN: “Slikour thinks he NOSE a lot.”
