Slippery Kotzé behind bars

2012-01-11 10:53

Police have arrested Johan Kotzé, who is accused of orchestrating a gruesome assault on his estranged wife and killing his teenage stepson.

“He (Kotzé) was arrested in Modimolle, more details will follow later,” said Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi.

Kotzé (51) had been on the run since the assault and the alleged murder a week ago.

Meanwhile, a 42-year-old man believed to be one of three men wanted for the attack was arrested in Makapanstad, near Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria.

“The suspect is expected to appear before the Modimolle Magistrates Court on Friday pending further police investigations,” said Mulaudzi.

He added that the police recovered Kotze’s Toyota Fortuner in Modimolle (formerly known as Nylstroom) yesterday.

“A team of investigators, with the assistance of the police helicopter, is combing the area where the vehicle was found abandoned.”

Police investigations were at an advanced and sensitive stage and more arrests were imminent, said Mulaudzi.
