The G-Star Raw night in Joburg was awash with soccer stars, TV stars and fashionable personalities decked out in the best denim outfits at Maboneng Precinct on Thursday.

With three events happening a stone’s throw from one another, there was plenty of fun to choose from, but the Raw night?–?which started much later than the others?–?proved to be the all-nighter it was billed to be, with music and a performance from rapping sensation Okmalumkoolkat.

The event also boasted an art installation. The night kicked off with old-school music as guests slowly made their way into the venue.

Those who had attended other events nearby trickled in and made the place buzz.?The likes of bootylicious Boity Thulo, rapper Amu, singer-songwriter Tamara Dey and, much later that night, TV presenter Bonang Matheba and her boyfriend DJ Euphonik stopped over.

Boity praised the denim brand for bringing the event to downtown Jozi where it is hip and happening. Euphonik was billed to appear at the celebrity WeChat Fight Night event in the vicinity, but elected to attend the G-Star Raw party instead.

Although he refused to pose for us, he said he loved the brand.

The Ribane siblings with their faded denims were also there. They were the centre of attention, with everyone clamouring for their fashion sense. They define their fashion style as “healing art”.
