Soweto girl allegedly raped by priest

2012-05-05 09:42

Police are searching for a Dobsonville priest who allegedly raped a 10-year-old girl during an all night prayer vigil.

Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said the rape had taken place on April 14 but that girl only told her sister about it yesterday.

“The girl had attended a prayer meeting with her parents and the priest took her to another room to pray for her but instead raped her. She did not tell her parents immediately and only told her sister yesterday,” Makhubela said.

Police went to the priest’s house but did not find him. “He was not at his house but he will be arrested soon,” Makhubela said.
