Spaniards learn what goes around, comes around

2010-10-22 09:48

Wellington, New Zealand – Three Spanish tourists spent three hours in a New Zealand tourist resort town picking up human waste after admitting they had defecated on a residential street’s grass verge, a newspaper reported today.

The trio, who were travelling in a hired camper van not equipped with a toilet, volunteered for community service instead of facing charges in court, Police Sergeant Todd Hollebon told the Otago Daily Times.

He said they spent the time “picking up exactly what they and others had deposited” around roadside rest areas in the South Island lakeside resort town.

“All parties found this to be a positive outcome,” Hollebon said.
