Summit to prioritise anti-hacking measures

2011-03-28 11:04

Measures against hacking would be a priority topic at a conference for chief information officers (CIOs), an antivirus company said today.

David Jacoby of Kaspersky Lab said that businesses were spending large amounts of money on anti-hacking measures but were not getting to the root of the problem.

“Through our forensics work, it is evident that in some cases, attackers are not using more advanced techniques, yet businesses are still being hacked by the same old ways as before,” Jacoby said.

Kaspersky Lab would discuss solutions to this in the Industrial Development Corporation Africa CIO summit today and tomorrow.

The conference would discuss the role of the CIO in workforce productivity, business strategy and the handling of information, Kaspersky Lab said.
