At this time of the year there is nothing better than hearing some words to get you through the first weeks. This is especially true for strangers who will tell you deep things about all the aspects of your life that you want to change but have no idea how. Enter the mighty TEDx talks - the organisation that invests in ideas worth sharing. It is a collection of dynamic videos of speakers who get together with diverse audiences and start conversations and discussions about a wide range of subjects and themes. It’s a simple, but valuable idea.
This week we have been bombarded by a range of experts on education telling us what went wrong with yet another class of matriculants and our shoddy education system. Unfortunately it is not something that you haven’t heard before. Neither is this talk to be honest, but it’s worth a listen. It is relevant if you are a parent wanting the best for your child, it is reassuring if you are a student who feels that you are just not making the cut and it certainly explains a lot about the work place and why you may be struggling to be the innovative go-getter you once were.
