The teacher of the 4-year-old boy who was killed during a hijacking in Reiger Park said he was an inquisitive boy who had “a lot of questions and used big words.”

Veronica Nunn, his teacher for three years, shared her fondest moments of Taegrin Morris at a memorial service held in his memory in Reiger Park, Joburg last night.

“Little Taegrin was a charmer. He would always say: ‘Oh, teacher, you are so beautiful. I’ll ask my mommy to buy you chocolate,” she said.

She said she was shattered at the news of Teagrin’s death, but his death had reaffirmed her commitment to making Reiger Park a better place.

Nunn paused often during her speech to gain her composure. “Forgive me if I stop in between my speech, I considered him my little boy,” she said.

She thanked his parents for trusting her with their son. “Rest in peace, Taegrin my son.”
