Teacher to appear for allegedly raping pupil in school toilets

A North West teacher is expected to appear in the Lehurutshe Magistrates’ Court this week for allegedly raping a 13-year-old pupil.

The teacher, from Dinokana village near Zeerust, would be in court on Tuesday for a formal bail application, Captain Pelonomi Makau said today.

On November 6, he allegedly asked the girl to stay behind after school ended, took her to the school’s toilets and raped her.

The rape was confirmed when the girl was taken to a hospital, Makau said.

The following day the school’s principal reportedly took the teacher to a police station. He is currently in police custody.
