Teens arrested for priest, wife’s murder

2011-08-11 07:03

Two more teenagers have been arrested in connection with the murder of a retired Eastern Cape priest and his wife.

Two 17-year-old boys were arrested at Samora, Cape Town, police Captain Ernest Sigobe told the SABC.

Police found the bodies of Sipho Qona (83) and his wife, Nothando (73), two weeks ago when they responded to a housebreaking.

Two days after the discovery of the bodies, police arrested two boys – also both aged 17 – in connection with the crime.

One of the boys was found in possession of a car and three cellphones that belonged to the couple, and a weapon allegedly used to commit the crime.

All four would appear in Alice Magistrates Court later today.
