Ten killed at Batman movie showing

2012-07-20 09:10

Denver, Colorado – Ten people were killed and at least 40 others were wounded in a shooting at a US cinema showing The Dark Knight Rises, the latest Batman movie.

NBC News reported that one suspect was in custody and a bomb squad had been sent to the theatre in Aurora, a suburb of Denver.

An Aurora police dispatcher confirmed a shooting at a cinema but did not provide further details.

A report by local radio station KOA that cited witnesses this morning said that a figure in a gas mask had opened fire at the showing in a mall and set off a smoke or tear gas bomb.
