1 Mi Casa – Jika

Jika has even spawned its own dance style and you can bet Mi Casa’s army of fans will jikeleza to this groovy and melodic track over the entire festive season. The song has become an anthem at events and enjoys heavy rotation on local radio stations. It has consistently been one of the most downloaded songs on iTunes and has appeared near the top of all local charts.

2 Big Nuz – Inazo

What would the holidays be without Big Nuz getting you dancing? This is vintage Big Nuz and it will surely be the track at every party this summer. As Danger puts it: “Le ngoma eye-summer.” (This song is for summer.)

The boys from Durban are back with a banger from their latest offering, Made in Africa.

Inazo is one of the faster-rising tracks on the local charts right now.

3 Ganyani – Xigubu

DJ Ganyani, aka Master G, is one of our more underrated producers. With Xigubu, though, he has gone mainstream and has taken Xitsonga mainstream with it.

FB, a young female poet, gives some serious shine to the heavy percussion and powerhouse bass line.

Even the rhythmically challenged will be dancing. The video on YouTube has garnered more than 700?000 views and Ganyani’s House Grooves Volume 8 is as popular now as when it was released last year.

4 Mafikizolo – Happiness

Mafikizolo are rolling out the hits off their comeback album Reunited. The third track and second single, Happiness, does what it says on the tin and more.

The song doesn’t just celebrate the band’s reunion, it also unites Mafikizolo with the rest of the continent with a big African sound. It features Nigerian artist May D, who is not new to collaborations with South African musicians.

5 Uhuru – Y Tjukutja

The young gang of producers who go by the name Uhuru were on the rise – and then they produced Mafikizolo’s smash hit Khona. Now Maphorisa, DJ Clap, Celimpilo and Mapiano have arrived. Their second album is called Our Father and has just hit the stores.

Y Tjukutja is already big on the dance floors of some of the hippest events across the country.

Euphonik's top five: Euphonik, a.k.a. Themba Nkosi, is a bona fide star on the club circuit and on radio, with a slot on 5FM.

Euphonik is also a member of the judging panel on’s Step Up or Step Out, and is a regular on the music conference and party scenes in Miami and Ibiza. His selection of five tracks to look out for reflect a well-travelled, global DJ

1 Avicii ft. Aloe Blacc – Wake Me Up

This is for the electro dance peeps and, with more than 118?million views on YouTube, it’s a smash hit globally. Avicii is a Swedish DJ and producer.

In July, Wake Me Up became the UK’s fastest-selling single of the year, moving 267?000 units in its first week. It continues to stalk local charts and was number four on iTunes last week.

2 Chris Malinchak – So Good To Me

The new track by this American DJ and producer debuted at number two on the UK Singles Chart, selling more than 70?000 copies in its first week.

This is one for soulful House enthusiasts.

There will be no major sweating, but your emotions will swirl. It will see you holding dearly to your loved one while ushering in the New Year.

3 DJ Kent ft. The Arrows – Spin My World Around

Pam De Menezes and Christie Desfontaine are local pop group The Arrows.

They have been featured on a track by the epitome of cool, DJ Kent, aka Khensani Mabaso. Spin My World Around has taken SA by storm and you can’t go anywhere without hearing it – on the radio, in the club or as someone’s ringtone.

Spin My World Around comes off Kent’s latest album, The WeeKent.

4F.eU ft. Nyanda – Cool?&?Deadly

Fresh and Euphonik are joined by Slippery When Wet singer Nyanda from the Jamaican pop-reggae duo Brick & Lace on this electro-fuelled track.

Fresh and Euphonik’s musical bromance created the F.eU brand.

The new-school-vs-old-school duo both have shows on 5FM. They don’t just produce killer tracks together, they also presented the popular Club Culture on SABC1, in which they visited dance floors across the world. People are downloading this latest tune like crazy on iTunes.

5 Ten Walls – Gotham

Who exactly is Ten Walls? It seems no one really knows. Surfacing over the past few months, the mysterious producer hides behind his/her work, letting his/her thumping, multilayered House tracks speak for him/her. Gotham is his/her breakout hit.

This track has already been widely remixed.
