Some of hip-hop’s biggest names have been paired with their ancient counterparts in a new photoset by b4-16. The collection features classical artworks with characters whose outfits bear a striking resemblance to those of present-day rap stars. In the ultimate throwback post, rappers Kanye West, ASAP Rocky and 2 Chainz are presented as reincarnations of a regal past, where fur coats, heavy gold chains and stank faces were usual fare. Among some of the best comparisons are Rick Ross as a modern King Henry VIII and Wiz Khalifa’s reboot of a painting of one of the three wise men.
