The people who hold the power: Thabo Lekhu

2012-11-24 11:55

Lekhu feels a little disillusioned. It’s not the ANC as an organisation that bothers the branch secretary of Bloemfontein’s ward 22, it’s the party’s leaders.

The married father of two joined the ANC in 1993 wanting to join the fight to fix the country.

Lekhu believes it’s important to draw a distinction between the ANC as an organisation, what it stands for, what it wants to achieve and its current state.

His branch was still mulling over its nominees when City Press interviewed him, but Lekhu was clear that the ANC “needs a change in leadership”.

He supports Kgalema Motlanthe as the presidential candidate.

“The issues I think that should be discussed and decided on are the nationalisation of mines and land distribution.”
