A man drove over and killed a teenage girl after kidnapping her and her friend and raping one of them.

“There will be a manhunt today [Tuesday],” said police Captain Dumisani Ndlazi.

The two girls, aged 14 and 16, were walking along the road in Elandspoort on Sunday morning when a man in a bakkie stopped next to them and forced them into his vehicle.

“He went to Hennops River where one of them [the 16-year-old] was raped. After that he drove to Kwaggasrand where the [14-year-old] girl was pushed out of the car and he drove over her,” said Ndlazi.

The man dropped the 16-year-old girl off after the ordeal.

“We don’t know exactly where she was dropped off.

“We are still investigating.

“We don’t know exactly what happened and why one was killed and the other dropped off.”

Ndlazi said the man was in his late twenties.
