2012-06-22 06:57

A third man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a day mother and a five-month-old baby boy in Delmas, Mpumalanga police have said.

Lieutenant-colonel Leonard Hlathi said the 24-year-old man was arrested in Springs, east of Johannesburg, yesterday morning.

“The man was found in possession of a cellphone, which police believe belonged to the victim.”

He faced charges of murder and was expected to appear in the Delmas Magistrates Court today.

The other two men also accused of the murders were expected to appear in the court on June 27, when their bail application would continue.

The woman, Margrietha de Goede (66), and baby Wiehan were found strangled in her home last month.
