Of Good Report, the film controversially banned by the Film and Publication Board (FPB) – and then unbanned on appeal a week later – is heading to a cinema near you.

Producer Mike Auret says the film will be available on 10 screens across the country starting on August 9. It is also heading to international film festivals.

The film that features a sugar-daddy storyline that enraged the FPB is now classified 16SNVL.

It will premiere in Cape Town on Friday August 2 and then Pretoria on Saturday afternoon and Johannesburg on Saturday night August 3.

The following week it will premiere in East London, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein and Durban.

Premieres will be followed by informal discussions around the issues that the film raises – of censorship, sex, sugar daddies and our education system.

City Press will be Of Good Report’s media partner. The newspaper has chosen to support the film in the interest of public debate and freedom of expression, as well as to show support for an envelope-pushing and accomplished local film.

We are offering our online readers the chance to win tickets to the premieres, starting with the screenings in Cape Town, Pretoria and Joburg. Five pairs of tickets are available to each.

SMS “Movie” to 42987 to stand a chance to win. SMSes are charged at R1.50 each. The competition closes on Wednesday July 31 at 5pm.
