Why Zumaville probe was delayed

2014-05-22 13:49

A lack of capacity has led to the delay in Public Protector Thuli Madonsela’s office launching a full investigation into Zumaville.

Eyewitness News reports that Madonsela was asked to investigate the Zumaville development near President Jacob Zuma’s Nkandla homestead two years ago.

A preliminary report – compiled because of capacity constraints – revealed that there was a case to answer, and a full investigation will now follow.

Beeld reports that alleged abuse of power and the misuse of funds are being investigated against Zuma.
