Woman killed in Butterworth

2010-12-04 15:06

A 30-year-old woman was stabbed to death in Butterworth on Saturday, Eastern Cape police said.

Captain Jackson Manatha said it was alleged that she was stabbed with a knife and also beaten with a hammer.

“She suffered wounds on her top body and died at the scene.”

He said police were looking for her boyfriend who was believed to be a suspect in the case.

In a separate incident in Idutywa, a 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing another man to death.

Manatha said they had an argument at a tavern last night, and the deceased was found dead on Saturday morning at the doorway of a house in Drayini Village.
