Zuma wishes Springboks well

2013-10-05 12:32

President Jacob Zuma wished the Springboks well ahead of their test match against New Zealand at Ellis Park.

“We call on all South Africans to rally behind our national pride the Springboks this afternoon,” Zuma said today in a statement.

“We are certain that they will do the country proud, as they have always done on many occasions, especially against New Zealand.”

The match had been billed as the greatest test in rugby, with the traditional rivalry between the Springboks and the All Blacks dating back to 1921.

Tests between the two rugby powerhouses remained one of the spectacles in world rugby.
