Zuma’s spin doctor to meet 5FM jock Gareth Cliff

2010-10-23 10:43

President Jacob Zuma’s spin doctor will meet with radio jock Gareth Cliff next week after his scathing attack on government in a public letter.

Zuma’s spokesperson, Zizi Kodwa, said the president would “not be meeting Cliff” as reported in the media, but Kodwa himself would meet with him.

“The president has nothing to do with the scheduled meeting, and he will not be meeting Cliff,” said Kodwa.

“After seeing the letter through social networks this week, I set up a meeting for Monday with Cliff.”

In his letter, Cliff called on the president to root out corruption and said Zuma’s record so far was “far worse” than former presidents Nelson Mandela, Thabo Mbeki.

“What with family members becoming overnight millionaires ... I know you sit around laughing about how much you get away with.

We’ll take you down, either at the polls or, if it comes down to the wire, by revolution,” wrote Cliff.
