55-year-old New mom rushed to hospital

2007-11-30 00:00

MIRIAM Dingalibala, the 55-year-old woman from Phase 5 in France, who recently gave birth to a baby boy, was rushed to hospital in a critical condition on Wednesday night.

Dingalibala’s daughter Zama told The Witness yesterday that her mother’s condition deteriorated severely on Wednesday afternoon and she fainted several times.

She said that when the ambulance came to fetch her, she appeared to be unconscious.

A medical staffer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said they suspect Dingalibala has dyspnoea or shortness of breath, which she said is a result of her having recently given birth and because of her epileptic history.

Dyspnoea is a common symptom of numerous medical disorders and is linked to pulmonary vascular diseases.

Dingalibala was discharged yesterday afternoon, although Zama said that her mother is still very weak.

Witness readers continued this week to make donations to the new mother.
