80 hurt in public transport crashes

A TOTAL of 80 people have been injured in two public transport accidents in KZN.

At Nongoma, 65 were hurt when a bus overturned on a dirt road.

At Hibberdene on the South Coast, 15 were hurt in a collision between a taxi and a car.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said one person was in a critical condition.

KZN EMS spokesperson Robert McKenzie said paramedics from the provincial service were joined by private ambulance crews to stabilise the 65 bus passengers and take them to the Benedictine hospital.
