A bikini body is 10% sweat, 90% eating right

IN her bikini she exuded self confidence on the cat walk.

“How does she do it?” was the question all women had.

The bad news is there is no quick fix to look like Miss SA 2014, Rolene Strauss, just hard work in the form of high-intensity workouts, five days a week.

Theresa Strauss, Rolene’s mother, said a healthy lifestyle was very important for Rolene and her whole family and that bikini body in that was the result of a hours of hard work.

She had been working with a personal trainer for three years but for the Miss SA crown they started a more specific exercise regime that included cardiovascular workouts and lots of leg work, including running up and down stairs.

Her personal trainer, Jan-Hendrik Janse van Rensburg of Temple Training, said exercise only determines 10% of one’s appearance.

“The other 90% is what and how you eat. You must constant in your meals and portions every day. The better your diet, the better the results of your workouts.”

High protein, not too much carbs and low fat is the recipe for a healthy lifestyle. He adds that one does not need to work out at a gym, because with enough self-discipline anyone can have an effective workout at home.

“Each house has steps and chairs. You can use your own body weight to do a hard workout.”

He said he will miss Rolene as a client, and that she deserved her crown for being who she is.

He said he had never seen Rolene in a bad mood over the years.

“I looked forward every day to her workout sessions.”
