A treat for Simpsons fans and sex addicts on ‘Carte Blanche’

FANS of The Simpsons are in for a treat tonight when Vuzu (DStv channel 123) airs the episode Access All Areas at 6.30 pm.

Not only will viewers get the chance to go behind the scenes of the cartoon series to see how it’s made and the people behind it — Matt Groening, James L. Brooks and Al Jean — but there will also be a host of classic clips involving Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie, as well as celebrities talking about their favourite characters from the show. Unmissable.


• Carte Blanche Medical – M-Net, 7 pm: Carte Blanche delves into the issue of sex addiction, described as the latest “fad addiction” to afflict the rich and famous, and visits the paediatric unit at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital, which has been helped through its “Making a Difference” campaign.

• Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling — SABC3, 8 pm: Watch 10 celebrities learn, train and compete in competitive wrestling. Judging their efforts are world champion wrestler Hulk Hogan, former president of World Championship Wrestling Eric Bischoff and professional wrestling manager Jimmy Hart.


• Afro Café — SABC2, 10 pm: Vusi Mahlasela chats to Stoan about his recent overseas tour, upcoming album and the World Cup.


• Survivor South Africa — M-Net, 7.30 pm: One-hour special.Winner GiGi and runner-up Ashley Hayden expand on their Survivor journey in interviews recorded after the winner was announced; diary sessions in which the contestants divulge their highs, lows, trials and tribulations; and what the jury members got up to once their torches were snuffed out at the tribal council.

• Bloodlines — SABC1, 8.30 pm: This Swazi film is part of the Soul City: Love Stories in a time of HIV and AIDS series and tells the story of a businessman, Qhawe Hlanze, who has always taken care of his beloved wife and family. But he also believes that what he does outside his marriage is his right until one fateful day his son is seriously injured in an accident.

• Playa — e.tv, 9.30 pm: Tonight’s episode features an interview with Bafana Bafana keeper Moeneeb Josephs and a chat to Lucas Radebe’s old friends and neighbours about his life in Leeds.


• Top Billing — SABC3, 7.30 pm: Jeannie meets Mel Gibson and the stars of his latest movie Edge of Darkness in LA.


• Music Moves Me (M3) — SABC2, 4.30 pm: Hip-hop group Teargas, who were nominated for an award for this year’s Samas, talk to Raphael about persevering in the music business. There’s also a behind-the-scenes look at Samas and interviews with some of the celebrities.
