THE new board of Amafa, the heritage agency for KwaZulu-Natal, was described by Premier Zweli Mkhize yesterday as having both an infusion of new blood and a legacy of institutional memory.

The 11 board members who were named yesterday have a variety of skills, covering history, the arts, architecture, social sciences and accountancy.

The members are former chairperson Arthur Konigkramer, Jabulani Sithole, Ndukuyakhe Ndlovu, Mary Kluk, Prince Clement Zulu, Caroline Ruiters, Themba Blose, Dumisani Mhlaba Professor Antonia Nzama, Professor Imtiaz Vally and Ela Ghandi.

The board will also have three members from district heritage forums. They are Ramchandra Reddy, Zinhle Ndaba and Nkosikhona Sibiya.

Mkhize congratulated the board on its composition and its varied skills and said it had an important role to play.
