‘ANC is on the right road’

2013-09-13 00:00

CAPE TOWN — Normally after 20 years in power, a freedom movement starts to suffer from a post-revolution policy crisis, but not the ANC, says President Jacob Zuma.

He said the ANC will do a lot better in next year’s general election that what the pundits seem to be expecting.

The president yesterday told the parliamentary media corps that he was convinced the ANC would not follow the same downhill route that most freedom movements took after achieving a revolution.

He said while there were obviously many challenges to being free, the consequences of such freedom depended on the nation’s type of government. He said the ANC was on the right road to govern for at least the next 40 years, “because no one in the world has a better policy than the ANC”.
