ATM bombings: 10 to stand trial

TEN men have been indicted to appear in the Pietermaritzburg high court on October 24 to stand trial on charges arising from a spate of ATM bombings in the province.

The accused will face a total of 31 charges, including the murder of Pietermaritzburg policeman Vidhur Jadoo and two civilians at Utrecht.

The charges they face are murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, theft, malicious injury to property, contravening explosives legislation, and unlawful possession of firearms, including machine guns, ammunition and explosives.

The crimes were committed between September 28, 2012 and January 13 this year.
