A 37-YEAR-OLD woman made a brief appearance in the New Hanover Magistrate’s Court yesterday on a charge of murdering her allegedly abusive boyfriend and was released on R600 bail.

Fikile Dlamini’s boyfriend, Bongani Mthembu (48), allegedly returned home drunk on Saturday, fought with her and assaulted her.

Dlamini allegedly called for help from family members, but no one came to her assistance.

She then took a knife and stabbed Mthembu once in the left thigh. Mthembu was taken to Appelsbosch hospital where he died the following morning.
