Accident: Car crashes into wall

2008-02-18 00:00

A SPEEDING car lost control and crashed into the wall of 177 Chase Valley Road in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Rajen Chinaboo from the RTI said that it would appear that the driver of a Ford Escort lost control while negotiating the bend in Chase Valley Road, immediately after Twickenham Road.

The car, with two passengers, crashed into the wall at approximately 1 am on Saturday and overturned. One passenger had his hands pinned under the overturned vehicle. Both men, believed to be in their 20s, were taken to St Anne’s Hospital.

The incident has raised the ire of residents who say that this was the third accident at the Chase Valley Road bend in a short space of time. They are requesting the municipality to construct a speed hump before the bend so that drivers will be forced to control their speed at the bend.
