Actor Thwala ‘caught speeding’

2015-02-26 00:00

POPULAR Isibaya and Generations actor Siyabonga Thwala was allegedly caught yesterday by the Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) driving 153 km/h in a 120 km/h zone.

The star was driving along the N2 south bound in Ballito when the RTI clocked him driving well over the legal speed limit.

RTI spokesperson Zinhle Mngomezulu said the actor was brought into their office to pay a fine of R1 500 when he said he was late for a meeting and sped away from their offices in his Mercedes without paying the fine. “We will press charges if he does not avail himself to pay the fine soon,” said Mngomezulu.

Attempts to contact Thwala were unsuccessful as various numbers for the star were either engaged or went to voicemail.
