Africa Cup: Bafana want to rank in top four for draw

2011-08-04 00:00

JOHANNESBURG — Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane is determined to win the next three fixtures and move his side back into Africa’s top four.

South Africa will play Burkina Faso, who are currently the fourth-ranked team in Africa, on August 10 before crucial Afcon qualifiers against Niger away and Sierra Leone at home. “We want to be in the top four in the rankings to be seeded when the draw is conducted. We know very well that we will definitely qualify for the finals in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon next year.” Bafana currently lead the way in Group 7 of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers, ahead of Niger. — Football365.
