Air show comes to PMB

IT’S full steam ahead going into the Pietermaritzburg leg of the KZN Winter Air Tour at the Pietermaritzburg Airport this week.

In its second year, organisers are hoping this year’s tour dwarfs last year’s inaugural tour.

Spokesperson Justin Scott told The Witness that preparations for this year’s Maritzburg leg were going well.

“We have a nice line-up of aircraft this year. It’s definitely better than the line-up we had last year,” said Scott, who added that they also had a different mix of exhibitors.

“This year we’ve brought the crowds much closer to the runway,” Scott said.

He said that this year, people who went to the Pietermaritzburg Airport to see the show would have the opportunity to get up close to the planes and interact with the pilots.

“We really hope that PMB goes for it and we get a good crowd in,” Scott added.

Ticket prices cost R50 for adults and R30 for children and are free for those under the age of six.
