Angle grinder: blade strikes man's neck

A MAN from Bushman’s Neck, near Underberg, was critically injured yesterday morning when the blade of an angle grinder almost decapitated him.

Derrick Banks of ER24 said the man was grinding stone when the blade flew off and struck him in the neck. He was treated by the Berg Protection Service before an aero-medical support plane from Red Cross Mercy Service was sent to airlift him to Pietermaritzburg, where he is in a critcial condition in Medi-Clinic.
