Angry bull charges at pupils

2015-02-09 00:00

A LARGE bull caused havoc at Raisethorpe Secondary School after wandering into the school premises.

School began as per normal for pupils on Friday when parents dropped off their children who hung around the sports field before classes began.

A bull that was strolling down Chota Motala Road casually made its way through the front gate, calmly evading dashing security guards and curious onlookers.

The pupils who were loitering on the grounds said they got “the shock of their lives” when they turned around to see what was heading their way.

The large beast became aggravated and began chasing off pupils who ran screaming in all directions. Teachers came hurtling out of the staff room, and along with security guards, managed to fend off the animal.

Matric pupil Christen Mudiliyar (16) said it is not every day that you go to school and see large animals casually walking through the school premises.

“I got out of my mom’s car and turned around to see a massive brown bull walking toward our school gates. It wandered around the school grounds before getting a little aggressive but calmed down rather quickly and exited the school grounds,” Christen said. “It was a bizarre event that will definitely be one of the very hilarious highlights of my matric year.”

Another pupil, who asked not to be named, said he was standing with his friends when the animal approached them.

“It was so crazy. We were waiting to see who would run away first as it got closer, but when it started to run, we were out of there,” he laughed.
