Another political killing in KwaZulu-Natal Midlands

2014-04-24 00:00

THERE has been yet another political killing in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.

Nkosi Nkwanyana from the Mhlangandlovu area of Mshwati Municipality was gunned down on Tuesday night after a community meeting there.

Secretary in the ANC’s Moses Mabhida region, Super Zuma, said the attack on Nkwanyana happened hardly a week after Jabulile Ncalane from the same area was hacked to death by unknown assailants while sleeping in her house, in front of her young children on April 18.

A week earlier Mzwandile Dladla, another ANC activist also from the same area, narrowly escaped death when he was shot twice in his leg, said Zuma.

He added that no one has been arrested in connection with these three attacks.

“We condemn these attacks in the strongest possible terms. It is clear that there is a well-orchestrated campaign to instil fear among ANC volunteers,” said Zuma.

Police said they are investigating the killings.
